Individual Traditional Session with Don Carlos
Each retreat ceremony includes an individual limpia with the Indigenous healer. In the Kichwa tradition, this work is understood as energetic cleansing, balancing and connection with healing spirits.
A separate individual session with Don Carlos may also be arranged. Don Carlos is a Kichwa yachak, a traditional healer whose work draws on the ceremonial and spiritual practices of his community.
This session takes place on a different night from the group ceremonies. The participant does not drink ayahuasca; Don Carlos drinks it as part of his traditional practice. The session includes a cleansing ritual and work carried out while the participant lies on a bed. His techniques may include what the Kichwa tradition describes as extracting harmful energies by mouth from an area of the body.
This is a traditional ceremonial practice, not medical diagnosis or treatment. It does not replace healthcare or guarantee an improvement in a particular condition.
